Styles in Womens Jeans

There are so many styles of jeans out there that it is hard to know what is in fashion and what is not in fashion anymore. Some styles come and go never to be seen again and some stay on forever. We will talk about both of these categories just to put our finger on the pulse of jeans for women.

We will look at six different types of styles for now:

  • Skinny
  • Bell Bottoms
  • Boyfriend
  • Embellished
  • Baggy
  • Waistline

Skinny – these are a style that has lived through everything. Everybody has a pair of these no matter what their style of clothing is. They look great and are very versatile. You can dress them up or down and get them in a range of colors.

Bell Bottoms – Now these are a pair that has gone out of fashion decades ago. Every now and again it seems like someone is trying to make them fashionable but every time they only last for a short time. Do not bother buying these next time you see them for sale.

Boyfriend – now this is a tough one because it is such a new style. They came about initially because girls used to wear their boyfriends jeans and now they are specifically made womens jeans. A lot of celebrities are wearing them but it is too soon to tell if they will stand the test of time.

Embellished – I am a bit concerned about embellishing jeans because it is so easy to make them look very bad. No sparkly studs please and no big ornate patterns. Depends how it is done of course and whether or not it has been modified by some celebrity for charities sake. In that case it is fine but be really careful not to get caught up in this one.

Baggy – This is not really a style of womens jeans but can be if you belong to a certain crowd of people. If you are into hip hop or rap or maybe just like them baggy then by all means go ahead and wear them. They do not actually go out of fashion because demand is still high because enough people still want them

Waistline – The high waist is out. Why oh why did they ever try and bring these back? Do not waste your money on this. Low cut is fine, normal is fine but I do not want to see your bum crack either. This means too high or too low is a no go.

As has been discussed above, you never know if your purchase of $200 jeans will be unwearable in a years time. For some of us this will not be an issue, but for most of us, and I think more and more women are falling into this category, we want our dollar to go further and make sure that our hard earned money is spent wisely.
